Animal Crack? I Prefer Fauna Heroin

The Animal Collective’s highly limited box set of poorly taped live performances, Animal Crack Box, is shitty. The box design is neat, the vinyl is cool, and the resale value on eBay is excellent but sadly the music contained on the plastic is crap.

I think they had someone who was two blocks away record most of these live tracks. Even when you manage to find a song that you’d want to hear (e.g. We Tigers, Who Could Win a Rabbit) they sound so muddled and fucked up it’s not worth the time.

I’d suggest only seeking this out as a collector’s item that’ll make you good money in the future when you resell it to some other stupid sap.
